Community and Migrant Health Centers in Washington State provide vital roles in the detection of and response to outbreaks of infectious diseases, natural disasters, or acts of terrorism.  The Washington Association of Community & Migrant Health Centers is committed to supporting health centers to engage in preparation activities within their own organizations and to integrate into the plans of other community and regional response organizations.  Our emergency preparedness support services help to ensure that health centers have access to training, technical assistance and the opportunity to network with peers.

WACMHC offers many supportive services including:

  • Planning and executing conferences and workshops
  • Providing consultation and technical assistance to the Department of Health, Washington State Hospital Association, and health centers for the purchase and delivery of equipment as well as further development of emergency plans
  • Identifying emergency preparedness training opportunities for health center staff
  • Serving as a liaison for members on committees, coalitions, and task forces with state and federal entities
  • Sharing resources, tools, policies, and procedures through the web page toolbox
